Step inside Treehouse
Treehouse Workspace is a shared office concept, operating in Umhlanga New Town, Durban. The Umhlanga New Town precinct is one of Durban’s premier business hubs, with a selection of upmarket office and commercial spaces, hospitals, retail stores, and restaurants calling it home.
Our client, Treehouse, had recently taken over additional office space within their building and asked Silk by Design to install an artificial vertical garden, as well as potted artificial trees in one of the newly refurbished common areas, with the aim of creating a calm, relaxed, and inviting space for tenants to use.
The artificial plants for this project were selected for their realistic look and feel, as well as their high quality, for them to appear as if they were live plants. Cordyline Trees, Ficus Trees, and Palms were selected because they are common indoor live plants, however, due to the lack of natural lighting in the space, artificial plants were preferred for their longevity and low maintenance requirements. These trees were paired with stylish fibre cement and Ficonstone pots, also from our range, to complete the look.
The fully planted vertical gardens installed by Silk by Design consisted of mixed greenery, with Boston Ferns, Bird Nest Ferns, and Taro Leaves making up the main visual elements. Once again, these are commonly used plants in living green walls, and hence their use in this project enhances the natural, realistic look and feel of the installation.
For this project, installation was handled by the Silk by Design team, and all of the elements were installed in under 2 hours, with little to no interruption to the tenants.
After completion of this project, the Treehouse team were so impressed with the results that they asked us to supply additional plants for some of their existing offices.
